Major Dilemma

So, I have a major dilemma and need some advice. On May 20th I have two things happening and I am going to have to choose bewteen them. About a month ago I bought a ticket to go see Stephenie Meyer in Portland. She is going to be leading a discussion about her new book, The Host, doing a Q&A and signing The Host and up to 2 Twilight books. I am going with a bunch of girlfriends and I was REALLY looking forward to it. (Not to mention I spent $26 on the ticket)

On this same night we are having our last parent meeting at school. Every month we have a parent meeting where all the families are invited to the school and we have speakers, activities, etc. for the families to be involved with. Our last parent meeting is always at the park and we have a BBQ, magician, music, games, etc. It is actually really fun and we usually have really great attendance. I'm sure I could get out of it, but I don't know if I want to. I love my families and it is fun to take pictures with them and have a good time together.

What to do, what to do?

Tough choice! Not sure I can help you there. Of course, I want you to come have fun with us. But if you really want to go to the parents night, then I don't know. I guess I'm not much help. Maybe other people will have more and better advice.

Eek, this is a tough one. I don't know how many parent meeting you've had, but if you've already had about 6 or 7 of them then I would probably skip out! It would be amazing to see your favorite author in person! But I guess you would have to weigh the guilt of not being at the meeting and try to determine if you could push through it and still enjoy the book-talk. You'll make the right choice, no worries!

Go to the book signing! Sounds like a once-in-a-lifetime thing and I think you'll regret not going.

Make a list of pro's and con's of each then evaluate...

I am dying to know what you decided!!! I say book signing! Even if you regret the school thing it won't be for longer than you will regret the other!

I would go with the one that will be more memorable for you. When you are 80, and you are looking back on your life, will you say, "Boy, I am glad I went to that parent's meeting, it was really important." or would you say, "That book signing was so cool, I am so glad I got the opportunity to go."
