10 Months

Oh, this tiny little man! He is such a happy little guy. These are his stats at 10 months:
Height: 28 inches (31%)
Weight: 19.5 pounds (23%)
I seriously can't believe how tiny he is. Luke was like a giant man at this point in the 80/90%. Doctor says his proportions are great so no worries about his growth. He loves his food and his milk and gets plenty of both. His favorite food is blueberries. Since they have been in season he has been eating lots of blueberries. He also loves cheese, black beans, crackers, quesadillas, pizza, avocado. He pretty much eats anything we give him. He doesn't really eat baby food anymore. We try to cut up whatever we are eating and he uses his little baby gums to smash it up! This kid still has NO TEETH!! Luke had 6 teeth at this age so that is totally different for us. The only thing we have found hard for him to eat is apples. He can even eat chicken and sausage with his little gums. We are feeding him completely differently than we did Luke in the hopes that we will produce a less picky eater this time around. He is still nursing 4 times a day.

He is still on the move like a crazy man. He just switched from the army crawl to a normal baby crawl. He is pulling up on everything and want to stand more and more every day. I have a feeling that he will be walking with the next month or two. He is SO FAST. He loves to chase after cars, balls and mostly his brother. He wants to be on the move and it is adorable. I usually find him standing in his crib after naps.

This is his sleeping schedule:
7:30 AM Wake
10/10:30 AM Nap
11:30/12:00 PM Wake
2:30/3:00 PM Wake
7:30 PM Bath time
8:00 PM Bed time
He is such a great sleeper and sleeps through the night like a champ. I seriously can't even remember the last time he woke up in the night. He really only likes to sleep in his crib. He doesn't like to cuddle or be held when he is tired or sad. He just wants to sleep on his tummy in his crib in the dark with his sound soother on. That is great for everyone but he definitely does not nap on the go so it limits our outings sometimes.

He is very easy going and just kind of goes with whatever we are doing. He has a lot of free play time, but I do try to get down and play with him for a bit during the morning and afternoon. He loves to knock over block towers, throw balls, play with cars and dance to music. He is really good at entertaining himself. We always read books before nap time. His favorite books are: Chicka Chicka ABC, Pat the Bunny, Brown Bear and Red Hat Green Hat. He loves to sing If You're Happy and You Know it and Popcorn Popping.

James is such a happy little man and loves to smile and laugh. He is always smiling at everyone at the store, church, home and everywhere we go. He gets a little grumpy in the car sometimes and when he is tired/ready for a nap. He loves taking a bath with his brother and splashing in the water. He loves to be outside, but does not like to be on the grass.

8 months

Oh, this baby boy! He is 8 months old and such a little turkey! He is a mover. He started crawling a little after 7 months. He is only army crawling right now, but he is getting very fast and can get just about anywhere he wants to go. He, of course, wants to go all the places he shouldn't--near the plugs, doors, under chairs, to the dishwasher and playing with the vent covers.

He has moved to just two naps now and is still sleeping through the night like a champ. This is what his typical schedule looks like at 8 months.
7:30/8:00 AM Wake up and nurse
Eats breakfast and plays
10:00/10:30 AM Nap
12:00 PM Wake up and nurse
East lunch and plays
2:30/3:00 PM Nap
4:30/5:00 PM Wake up and nurse
Eats dinner and plays
7:30 bath time
8:00 nurse and go to sleep
This boy has been sleeping on his tummy for months. I always put him down on his back, but he immediately turns over and loves to sleep on his tummy or his side. When I go to check on him before I go to bed he is often sleeping on his side and he looks so sweet! He naps very well and sleeps the best in his crib. He is definitely not a baby who naps on the go. He rarely falls asleep in his car seat and if he does it will only be for like 20 minutes.

He has NO TEETH!!! I can't believe it! He is a good eater and really enjoys solid foods, but he is mainly eating homemade baby foods or really soft table foods. He eats: sweet potatoes, butternut squash, peas/carrots, bananas, applesauce, prunes, green beans, baby rice cereal, avocado, cheerios, mum mums and some crackers. We try to give him small bites of whatever we are eating and he enjoys eating any bread/carb/cracker that we eat. Our doctor has told us that we can feed him anything and that we don't need to avoid the normal allergens like strawberries/peanut butter/etc. He has had peanut butter a few times and really liked it! We cut up some pizza in teeny tiny bites last week and he was loving it! I would really like him to get some teeth so that he can start eating more foods.

He loves to play with his baby toys. He especially loves to play with any type of ball. If you sit him up and put a ball in front of him he will bat at it with his hand and kind of play pass. He also loves his jack-in-the-box and loves to play with his Daddy and brother. James loves to be outside. I will put a blanket on the front lawn and Lukey plays in the driveway and I can do yard work and James will happily play for an hour!

He is wearing 6-12 month or 9 month size clothes. I haven't weighed him in a bit, but I would guess he is around 19/20 pounds. He has wonderful squishing legs, arms and a squishy little tummy. I am excited for summer when I get to see his fat little legs more often. He is babbling more and using some consonant sounds like mama and baba. He has also learned that he can scream and yell so that is pleasant when he likes to do that in his high chair!

He is just such a happy little man and makes us all SOOO happy. He has a brother who adores him and he is growing up so fast.

5 Months

This little guy is 5 months. It really goes so much faster with kid number two. His schedule is pretty much the same as it was at 4 months. Still sleeping through the night (wakes between 5-7 for a quick feeding and then back to bed until 8:30), but I can tell he is getting close to dropping his third nap so that will probably happen in the next month or two and then he will have two longer naps.

He is SO happy and smiley. He loves to read Pat the Bunny. He smiles and giggles when I show it to him. He loves to see his brother and is fascinated by his brothers car track. James is working on sitting up and can go a few seconds on his own before he falls over. He is loving his feet right now. He plays with his toes and loves grabbing his feet. When he is having awake time he will lay on the floor and play with toys, sit in the exersauucer, bumbo or chair and be pretty content. He is loves his baby bjorn when we go out places.

He is still taking his naps in his bouncy chair so my goal this month is to get him napping in his crib because he is getting to heavy for the bouncy chair! He is still wearing 3-6 month clothing and it is starting to get just a little small, but he probably doesn't quite fit into the 6-9 month quite yet. Wearing a size 2 diaper, but is quickly getting into a size 3. We are starting to have too many blow outs!

He had a bad cold last month (thank you older brother!) but was still a happy camper even when he was stuffy and coughing and even had a small fever one day. He has no teeth and no big teething signs yet. Of course he puts everything in his mouth, but his gums are not red and I don't feel or see anything trying to come through yet. Luke already had teeth at this age so that is different for me. We have not started solid foods yet because I am too lazy, but he is getting ready so probably around 6 months.

4 MONTHS

This little baby is THE BEST angel baby in the entire world. I am totally jinxing myself by saying it, but he is so good and so happy and just the best baby that has ever lived! This is his schedule at 4 months:
5:00-7:00 AM wakes up for a quick feeding and then back to bed
8:30 AM I wake him up for the day and he eats
10:00 AM down for nap
11:30 AM wakes up and eats
1:30 PM down for a nap
3:30 PM wakes up and eats
5:00 PM down for a nap
6:30 PM wakes up and eats
7:30 PM bath time and get ready for bed
8:00 PM eats and then off to bed
SLEEPS THROUGH THE NIGHT!!

James is such a happy little man. He rarely cries. When he does it means he is tired. He usually only cries when he goes down for his nap for a few minutes and sometimes in the car. During his awake time he likes to play under his play mat, sit in his bumbo chair and he just started sitting in the exersaucer. He is really wanting to sit up more and be apart of the action.

He has started to eat his hands and bats at toys with his hands. He rolled over for the first time on January 13th. He rolled from his tummy on to his back. He is very good at tummy time now and holds his head up high. He will get frustrated after a bit and rub his face on the ground and start to cry.

He is a great sleeper but is still taking all of his naps in the bouncy chair. I was going to try to break him of that habit, but now he has a cold so I guess I will wait until he is feeling better and then he is going to have to nap in the crib. He sleeps all night in his crib so I know he can do it, but I have a feeling he might have some shorter naps when we make that transition.

He is still doing great at nursing and we have never even offered him a bottle because I am too lazy to pump! Oh well! He is spitting up less now which is nice because my shoulder does not constantly smell like spit up now. He is getting more distracted now while nursing so I often have to give Luke my phone and exile him from the room so the baby will get a full feeding. Otherwise he is pulling off the breast every minute try to see what is going on. I didn't really have that problem with Luke because it was just the two of us!

He seems to be growing so quickly and I miss that tiny little baby that popped out of me, but I don't miss getting up in the night and the never ending nursing! His schedule right now is great, but it does limit what types of outings we can do. He will sometimes nap when we are out and about, but we mostly stay home. Since it is winter and Luke is in school 3 days a week it works out okay.

I love this little man and I love watching him grow and change so quickly!
