Father's Day 2012

Our Daddy Bear requested breakfast burritos for Father's Day so that is what he got!

I made a candy bouquet I saw on Pinterest! Yay, I actually made something that I saw! Daddy and Luke with all the Father's Day loot!

Ummm....can you tell that is his dad?? They look exactly the same except Luke has my skin tone! Those are two precious smiles! Dan is such a good Daddy! He loves his little boy so much. He is always playing and wrestling with him after work, gives him his bath and reads Lukey Owl Babies! He is very patient with Luke and really just loves him so much. We have been lucky that Luke doesn't wake much at night, but Dan is always willing to get up with him or hold him for a nap when he has been sick. There have been a few times that Dan has held Luke for 1.5 hours while he slept because he was so stuffy. I'm so happy that Luke has a good Daddy who love him so much. He is a great role model to Luke and I can already tell that Luke wants to be like his Dad!

Mother's Day 2012

Ah, Mother's Day! I know that many Mother's dread and loathe this day. I have not reached that point in Motherhood yet, but I might someday :) I know there are many reasons that some Mom's don't like this day, but I'm not going to get into that here. I want to reflect on my one year of motherhood.

I really do love being a mother. I can honestly say that I have only missed working 2 or 3 times since I quit. I really enjoyed teaching Head Start, but my five years was about all I could take! I am a person who enjoys down time and being at home. I love being at home with Luke and being able to do whatever I want! I don't sit around in my pajamas all day, watching TV and eating bon-bon's (although, that does sound nice). I always shower, get dressed and put on makeup (somedays I skip the makeup!) and we usually have at least one outing a day. Luke and I like to get out and go exercise, go to the park, make a trip to Target or the library. I really stay so busy. I am NEVER bored! There are times when I don't want to do all the tasks written on my white board, but I always have something to do. I do a little work from home and that keeps me pretty busy as well. It has definitely been harder since we moved to Sherwood. I miss all my friends so much, but I know in time we will have new friends.

I love my little boy so much and I feel so blessed that I am able to stay home with him. I love going into his room in the morning and seeing his little face waiting for me. I love playing with him and watching him laugh and smile. I love watching him try to figure everything out. He learns and grows right before my very eyes. I love it when he gives me kisses and pats on the leg. I loved nursing him and spending that time with him. I love rocking him and signing him songs and watching his heavy eyelids close for sleep. I even love him when he screams and cries!

This Mother's Day we were staying with my sister's kids while they were on a cruise so I got to be mom to 4 kiddos that day! We had church in the morning so after church we had yummy french toast and presents! We got 4 kids ready for 9:00 am church and were even on time!

Mommy and Lukey!

Dan got me a beautiful Pandora bracelet with 3 charms. It is very nice and I can't wait to get more charms as the years go on!

It looks like somebody might be teething....

Rose Garden 2012

We met my sister and her kids at the Rose Garden in early June. It was a glorious day (not too hot but not too cool). I am so happy that Lukey has cousins that love him to pieces. The kids seriously mob him with love an attention every time we see them.

This teenager is so good with Luke. She has babysat him a few times and I have complete trust in her. It amazes me how responsible and amazing she is. It still can't believe she is a teenager because I remember her being a cute little toddler bossing everyone around!

This girl also adores Luke and he adores her. He has started to intermittently say "je" (for Jenna). He gets excited when he sees her picture and she is so cute with him. She loves to chase him around and make him laugh and smile. She is so full of life and emotion and I love her so much!

All the kids were blowing bubbles for Luke and throwing balls and Frisbees at him. It was nice for me because I just sat back and let the kids have fun playing  with Luke and I enjoyed the sunshine :)

Luke really started to like throwing balls and you can see he is developing a nice throw!

He seriously did this all on his own! The kids were trying to get him to throw the frisbee, but he just wanted to put his cute little face in there!

Had to get the classic picture by the arbor of roses.

Here are all the kids. Kelsey and Jenna each brought a friend with them.

The kids wanted a shot of them jumping in the air! This was the best we got!

Don't forget to stop and smell the roses!

Lukers

Towards the end of May Luke was just being SO cute! (well, he is always so cute!) He really started to enjoy throwing balls and playing with his basketball hoop. He usually gets ready to throw the ball and then drops it behind him before he can throw it!

This kid LOVES to eat! He really loved all baby foods and we started giving him more table foods and we learned that he really liked beans (black beans, pinto beans, pork and beans). Here is some evidence of the Southwest Chicken (chicken, corn, beans, salsa and cilantro) all over his face.

Using the walker

On May 24, 2012 Luke finally decided he would like to walk around with his walker and he LOVED it! Look at that huge smile! He was so proud of himself for being able to walk around like us big people!

He could only walk across the room and then he would fall over, but he was lovin' every minute of it!

SO BIG

On May 18, 2012 Lukey learned how to do SO BIG!! He is SO CUTE!
