School's Out For Summer

School is out! Hooray! I don't have to work for the next 93 days! It's funny because I countdown ALL YEAR to the last day of work and then when it comes I am always a little sad. I love my job and I love the people (well, most of them anyway) I work with. The first summer I had off I actually tried to get a job and nothing worked out, last summer was the summer of vacations and this summer could possibly be the summer of moving and fixing up a house! Yep ,that's right we might be moving. We put an offer on a house about nine weeks ago and we should get a yes or no by June 16th. It is a short sale and so it is very different from the traditional home buying experience. You are dealing with a bank/mortgage company and you can wait up to 90 days before hearing back from them. We both think that the bank will accept our offer, but it hinges on the home inspection. We are planning on replacing the flooring in the entire house and slapping some paint on the walls, but we can't really afford any other improvements at the moment. So, we are hoping that there are no major problems and that we will be moving into our first house in July!

It is two-story townhouse with 3 bedrooms, 2.1 baths and 1302 square feet. It has a cute little backyard, lots of nice closet/storage space and it happens to be 1/2 mile from my sisters house in Hillsboro. It is in a really nice neighborhood and we really like the Hillsboro area. It is going to be SO hard to leave our ward and our friends in NE Portland, but we have been presented with the perfect opportunity and if we don't buy now it will probably be a VERY long time before we can buy. This does mean that we are staying in Portland permanently. Dan will finish school next March and hopes to get an associateship with a Doc in Washington County.

WHAT!?! I am so sad that you might be moving! I thought you were going to send the summer having fun in the sun with us not moving away to fix up this cute house! I am sad for me to see you go but so excited for you and Dan. I hopw that the inspection gose well and you are able to go ahead with all your plans. Getting your first home is so much fun and always a little scary. Can't wait to hear the final word, good luck!

Hopefully it all works out. Today I was talking to the bishop and told him we will be moving but it might or might not still be in the ward and he said we have to get permission to move out of the ward, and that YOU guys didn't get his permission to move :) You will definitely be missed!

No, you can't leave us. What will we do without you. I know that a move like that will save you lots of time and gas, since you are always going over to your sisters. But we will miss you in our ward.
