President Gordon B. Hinckley

At 7:01 pm Pacific Time we were notified that President Hinckley had passed away. The first reaction is of course shock and the second reaction is joy for President Hinckley. What a wonderful reunion he must have had with his wife, other family members and of course our Savior. His spirit is free from his worn body and he now has the joy of being with our Father in Heaven and our Savior Jesus Christ. We have been online looking at all the Utah news stations and we have been listening to KSL radio. They have been chatting about President Hinckley's life and legacy.

We had the honor of hearing from Elder L. Tom Perry today at our Stake Conference. He spoke about the order of things in the Church and how the succession of prophets takes place. He related to us that every Thursday after their meeting in the temple the Quorum of the Twelve and the First Presidency have lunch together. They pass the food around the table and it starts with President Hinckley then to President Monson then to President Eyring then to President Packer then to Elder Perry and so on until it gets to Elder Cook and he might not get very much to eat! He said that they do this to remind themselves that their is a specific order to things, and this order is passed down through the Church. It was wonderful to hear Elder Perry speak about this today and now it means even more.

Now we are waiting for the 10 o'clock news to come on in Utah so we can hear more.

Oh I am so glad you are a blogger! I miss you and this will make me feel like we are up to date more often! I am so happy for you that you got high speed internet- there is nothing worse than dial up!!! Well your thoughts about President Hinckley were exactly mine! My grandma is here visiting and she was being so dramatic and saying how sick she was about it and I turned and said why- he is with his wife and he served a long time and he was ready to go! I am so happy for him and I feel so priviledged that he was our prophet for so long! Love you Holl!!!

Yea we are so glad you joined the blogging fad, it is such a fun way to keep in touch we are excited to stay up to date now. When Faust died I didn't find out for 2 weeks (cause I never watch the news - too depressing) so I had about 6 calls at 20 after 7 to notify me of Hinckley. Love your post about him, he was a great man and will be missed but no better man than Monson to carry on the work! At least Hinckley is with his sweet wife now. We were lucky to have him lead and guide us for so long! Yea for high speed too - you will love it. Love you guys lots - Shayne and Sherri
